i've always felt the 1.6 is too small for weight of car, means your always working the engine.

Engine was way too under-powered for the weight of that car...43000miles and no brake change in the audi longlife service, pedal travel was long, the ride was very choppy...and the engine juddered like a madman felt it down to the dogbone...but full audi service on-time HPi clear, Met black with black grill and S3 spoiler...asking £7500 what do you think?

Not bad price, as i see some places trying sell them over £9k! IDIOTS! lol with higher miles aswell. See if you can get it down a bit? But £7,500 do not seem too bad either!

Having had the old 1.6 8L I'd really recommend your friend get one of the bigger engined models, the 1.6 is really gutless in a car that heavy.

Yeah probably would be happy with £7,000 to be honest. Let us know how you get on. Did you take it for a drive? and did it look fine? I think i've seen the car on piston heads or ebay

Probably going for 1.6 for lower insurance and fuel cost. And might have not the funds for a bigger engine

TBH, I dont think the fuel ecomomy will be much worse with a bigger engine. You tend to have to work the engine more where on say mine, I can chuck it into 6th at 40mph and still be fine.

Drove it around for about 30 minutes on a mixture of driving some crazy spots and some EcoIn5thAt30 driving and averaged 19MPG....But I did have a full car.

19mpg is low, not even in my old 1.6 i'd ever get that! Might of been down to your driving style? Rev'in to long in gears? Thinking about going head with it?

That seems hellish expensive considering base engine and age. Interior is nice though. I reckon worth £5000-5500 in current market.

People may be asking more money for these, but that doesn't mean they're getting it!
