A1 tdi s line egr valve failure

Had Audi assistance out today and diagnosed egr valve need replacing gone into Audi and car is 2 days out of warranty.
Had mot done there 2 weeks ago and told that there was too much oil in so they drained some out.
Are these linked in anyway so I can say egr valve was on its way out when I was still under warranty?

Do you get it serviced, on time, at the dealer? If so, as a goodwill gesture I'm sure you'll get it replaced.

Was serviced at the Audi dealer about 11 months ago done about 4000 miles since then

Went on my wife's car a 2010 1.6 diesel a3 cab. At the time it was just out of warranty. Needs to have been serviced etc in the network - deffo get onto Audi for a goodwill - ours was going to be 800 odd, think it was a couple of hundred.
