A squeeky start.....

My S3 also makes a horrible high pitched squeek from the engine on start-up usually when it's cold or hasn't been run for a couple of days.

I hate these 'it sometimes does it' problems, cause Audi never believes me! I'm sure they just think I drop it in for a free car wash!!

Could it be the belts perhaps?

It does sound like the drivebelt. When it burns out and snaps then you can take the offending article and throw it at them (unless it is the water pump - that may cause a bruise)
