evening , in a couple of weeks i will be having the standard original fit 5 spoke 16" wheels on my 1999 1.8t sport refurbed in antracite and at the same time will be having new tyres fitted as there is no extra fitting cost as the old tyres have to come off anyway :)
my question is what size tyres will give me a slight stretch ?
not looking to go too extreme but do like the look of stretched tyres .
i hardly ever park next to a kerb so don't mind having exposed rims but the car is a daily so don't want to go too mental,
currently running 205 55 16

cheers baz

Not really possible I'm afraid mate.

To get a stretch on the OEM rims you'd have to go down several tyre sizes, leaving your car terribly under tyred!

the stock rims are just not wide enough to get any stretch at all.

my friend got pulled on the weekend for stretched tyres said wel let you off this time but were going to make a note if we catch you again its 3 points for each rim that sticks out further than the tyre, IMO 12 points and a ban isnt worth stretched tyres

not to worry lucky they gave it as an advisory, also got fined for press plates :p

uk legal? where from and have you been pulled with them on?
