any advices would be appreciated! (for acoustic beam or anything else)
thnx

This is done by activating Engine Data, but I could only activate this via VCP. This is an example display on my own car, non S:

Sorry, I don't know what VCP is but are you saying that it is possible on the FL S3?
If so, would it give any meaningful figures?

Thanks

Anyone figure out how to mirror a phone to the mmi ?

So far I did :

G Force meter
Unlocked Video in motion
Disabled Soundaktor
Auto door locks
Recirculation memory

PFL cars can use the AMI port as an external video source. If you had a PFL reverse camera then you could also use the TV / Aux input on the control module. For facelift cars I am not sure as yet. It looks like you will need a 3rd party interface which will daisy chain between the MMI and the cars cabling as AMI is no longer an option and the new reversing camera does not have a TV / Aux input. 3rd party interface example (PFL):

VCP = VAG Can Professional

Without going in to too much detail VCP is a more advanced VCDS application. It is possible on a FL S3 but I am not sure if it would give meaningful data as it would depend on the hardware within your car.

Thanks for the reply! That is as far as i have gotten as well. I found a few videos on youtube and they showed how to do it with PFL,Pretty easy to do with the AMI setup. I'm hoping someone can figure it out for the FL S3!

Someone cracked it with the Golf R and someone found this screen on the S3 with adaption - but we still don't know if it will help or not

I have seen the settings within the link but not played with them as yet. Will give it a go when I next have some free time but only have Apple devices to test with.

That would be great if you could get it working :)

I have a iPhone as well for my main device. I ended up buying a $70 android phone strictly for the VIM and obdeleven which I use with wifi only,But works great so far.

I like ODBeleven... gives me a lot of business... i.e. broken cars to fix :) Be careful when using it.

Really? I hope it's from people doing coding and making mistakes. I'm new to Audi so I only do the Apps which is one click and it does the coding for me

Thanks for the heads up tho !

Lol. Funny, I have both Micro-can and ODB11 but have always stayed to the tried and true VCDS.
Problem is that VCDS is becoming more limited now that VAG technology is moving forward :( I have not said very much recently, due to being very busy, but most of the FL modifications I have been finding are more or less impossible to do via VCDS :( One such example would be Visual Parking display with only rear sensors = impossible with VCDS in FL cars.

I think it s combination of people thinking that all they need to do is use the click functions and things will work, like activating lane assist without even having the needed camera lol. Also a lack of meaningful detail and descriptions does not help. The fact that many of these apps include "volume to be replenished" for the Audi A3 proves to me that they are not testing before releasing things to the public. This is a VW only feature lol

Oh ok,That makes sense then lol. Not sure if this is a new thing or not as I just used obdeleven for the first time this week. But most of the apps that show up after you scan don't work. when you click on them it says " Vehicle not supported "

So maybe they made it so you can only code things supported from the app to eliminate mistakes ? No idea to be honest lol

I only did the few things I listed above ( Gforce meter,Vim,auto door lock,disabled soundaktor,recirculation memory,seat belts off )

Maybe the app is moving on then, never used it myself but really should get a device and the app I guess. Ha! If I added this to my tool suite that would make 7 devices, 17 cables and 5 dongles :(

Might as well get one and add it to the arsenal. If you can't figure out how to mirror with all of that,I give up lol

Thanks for your help. I guess the S3 wouldn't have the hardware so a bit pointless, really. I wonder what hardware the FL RS3 will have to give torque and power readouts?

any advices would be appreciated! (for acoustic beam or anything else)
thnx
Unfortunately your car does not have an Audi factory alarm system, which would normally show up as a slave under 09 - cent elect:

Component: Sirene, DWA 004 0311

Subsystem 6 - Part No SW: 8V3 959 591 HW: 8V3 959 591

To see if you have acoustic alarm setup to work from the horn I would need to see an adaptation map of 09.

@DJAlix

Have you seen this yet ? Someone figured out how to get the RS3 gauges displayed but they don't work. I have the coding for them,But maybe it needs some tweaking ?? Lol

Yup, I did this a while ago :)
  • G Meter = Acceleration Display
  • Power / Torque = Engine Data Display
You need an "S" or "RS" car for these to work, but some cars do not have the needed hardware. The single / central dial display is another story :)

Engine data display on my car (see signature):

Nice ! Can I do the engine data display without long coding ? Through the dashboard ?

Unfortunately Engine Data Display is not possible via Long Coding or Adaptation, its activated via firmware parameters.

So it's similar to activating the Gforce meter it sounds like. Which was easily done through the dashboard and checking off a box (as you know)

The picture I sent was from someone who tried Long coding it,From a TTRS.

Not had the time to take any screen caps of the long coding for 17 but I am pretty sure its not there, could be wrong tho but I know I had to activate it via firmware editing. G Meter is in both Long Coding and firmware tho.

Oh ok I appreciate it man ! I'll check later although I also doubt it's there. The guy who did the Long coding said it was a pita and I'm sure he would of did it the easy way if it was there lol

Anyone figure out how to mirror a phone to the mmi ?

So far I did :

G Force meter
Unlocked Video in motion
Disabled Soundaktor
Auto door locks
Recirculation memory

How are you able to watch TV/dvd through your screen?

The DVD deck in the glovebox ? I think it's standard on the S3

On the pre face lift it's not standard- part of the technology pack or often called High MMI.

Actually thats a good point. Video on PFL cars is as follows:
  • MMI Low / Standard = Via an AMI connected device only
  • MMI High / Techpack = Via an AMI connected device, via DVD or via SD card

Nice,I didn't know that - I'm jealous I don't have the ami from the pre facelift. Mirroring is so easy with that

Ah, so there's a DVD reader in the glovebox on Facelift models then?

Cars with Technology Pack 100%, but not so sure on non-Techpack cars. I think all cars get one now but I cannot find anything to confirm this. Someone with a FL car and SD card based navigation can confirm.

Possible VCDS adaptations suggest that there is a blue-ray option also but am guessing this is for cars with rear seat entertainment options i.e. A4, Q5 and Q7 MLBevo platforms, which share the MMI units.

I have specced Tech Pach Adv so I should have it then hopefully. Looking forward to that, didn't know that existed. Does it have to be enabled via VCDS?

What resolution is it capable out outputting do you know? e.g If I play a 1080p HD DVD will it show me it in that quality? From Karbons screenshot it looks quite decent.

It's hard to tell in the picture,But it looks like 1080p HD when I'm watching it
