8v s4 oil

could i use castrol 10w40 oil in my s4 v8
i know i should use 5w40 but its on special at my local supermarket

but if you KNOW you should use 5w/40 dont you think you should use it ?

10W is slightly thicker oil, so when cold it will take a little longer to get round the engine

That was my first thought - I think you owe it to your car to run it on what it deserves rather than what the local supermarket has on offer....
