5000 revs

my 1.8T 2000 dbw only gets to 5000 revs in 3rd and 4th before it hesitates and feels like a limiter coming on im sure that it reved to 6000 before and it dosent feel as quick now, any ideas as to what to check first ?

will do one day but i need to find out what this prob is first so i can get the max out of the chip

sounds like it could be your MAF senser (airflow) as these is a pretty common fault on the 1.8T engine go up your local audi dealer they will test it for you

i was guessing that's what the problem is so will nip down to the dealers next week

Most probably is! On most Audi's, similar problem! I had the same on my s4! Just needed to change the Air mass flow sensor... worked!

the MAF sensors on audis are crap. had to change mine a month ago for similar reasons.

any idea how much they are? and can you get them anywhere apart from stealers?

Audi do an exchange for around 70-odd quid. Most specialists would charge the same.
