just finished the S3 we have been working on for some time.

I kind customer helped us with the project and now he has well over 400 bhp and massive torque from his S3

its totally drivable on the road off boost, but when it comes in.....

WALLOP, a 3 tonne sledge hammer goes ape under the bonnet....

its like a rocket is lit...

the traction control is needed in 2nd gear...

and on the motorway at 70mph in 6th is does about 30 mpg.

its quite a spec list but mighty powerfull...

we have medium specs available as well, built to your spec and requirments.

please call for details if interested.

    Andy,

I noticed on your website that you're doing the GT28RS kit . Are you diong this with the standard manifold or do you have a better one? Been thinking about one of these for a while.

It'll be towards the end of summer before I've saved enough pennies for the kit. I'll be interested to see what it all costs with injectors, remap, etc.

Should be interesting to see some performance times that thing. 285bhp/ton (ish)?

Pics of the engine in the car would be great!

    Hell fire!!
    Nearly
£20k on top of the cost of an S3...

You can buy a car that is actually thrilling to drive for that kind of cash...

I guess you'd really want to have a 400BHP+ S3 to spend that...

Well said, but MUCH better value that the £32,000+VAT that AmD / Sportec want for similar power!

You could have an NSX and a TVR for that kind of money!

To be fair, it's a lot closer to AmD's Stage 5. And that's only an extra £10k (inc VAT) on top of this /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I think I'd have gone for a facelift model if I was throwing that much into the engine.

I don't...but if you had to have 400+ BHP, I'd be tempted to have it in a chassis that can cope with it, put it down reliably...and has the suspension and brakes to match...and will hold it's value.

You could get a 993 TT for similar money to a 400+ S3 with suitable brakes and suspension.

That wouldn't be my choice necesarily...but it fits the bill.

car puts the power down fine...

at the moment the suspension is not great but the chap that ownes it is going to put H&R or Eibachs on it..

also sort the lower arm bushes..

that aside its very tractable for normal driving until the loud pedel is pushed... then it overtakes etc with ease.

I'm sure it does...but what I'm getting at is that no matter how much power you give it, nor how much work you do to the suspension, or the brakes...it's still a front engined predominantly FWD hatchback who's chassis struggles to deploy much over 270BHP with utter competancy.

Beyond that. if driven hard...the inherent design of the platform lets it down....regardless of the bits you bolt on.

But as you say..it's the customers choice...and it's good to see other companies offering drive in - drive out conversions of this type.

in some respects I agree with what your saying... but you obviously like to drive... as do I, some people drive in a different manner and want a different power delivery.

he does have the option of permanent 50/50 4wd, which does help on the corners with all that power....

this will make you laugh though..

we are putting a 300+ bhp engine into a renault clio shell....

Glen - I think you were almost starting to rise to the bait there, most unlike you... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

I think that's the thing it's an amasing achievement to get serious power from this engine, do you expect it to be as relaible (or more so) as a stock car with the uprated internals?

And to be honest if money was no object etc, I would have my S3 made into a monster to complement the other cars it'd be living with, but money and common sense are an option so I won't.

    I NEED a Dahlbäck manifold!

That is amazing, and as long as the engine is competently putting the power down, an amazing achievement as well.

only in the wet does the traction cut in, in a straight line.

    in corners its another matter

graphs etc will follow... got a small problem with the coilpack loom at the moment.. needs rewiring to stop a missfire issue.
