4 Wheel Alignment

Had the car done on saturday and the difference was amazing... it was a long way out previously and the company that did show you read outs for before and after! Had the Bilstein shocks repaired and tie bars fitted, it really goes round corners like a dream, cant believe the difference, also should help me not wearing the tyres out so quickly!

Where did you get it done and how much did they charge you?

Had it done at a place called A&B Autos, they are in Kingsfold on the A24 going to Horsham. They are a body work specialist and do alot of Porsche, jags and other expensive cars, they were recommended to me by someone and they did not disappoint, service was excellent and they were overall very nice people! They gave me a read out of before and after, it showed exactly why I went through a new set of GSD3s in under 4 months... now pleased the car is absolutely amazing compared to before!:icon_thumright:

Nice one, how much did it cost?

£75 +VAT, around £88 alltogether, took about an hour to do.

Now i feel lucky, i just got mine done for 35 all in!

Audi quoted 3 hours labour @ £92p/h to do it!

That's a joke, it took mine an hour & a half front and rear adjusted!

Main stealers all right!

A work mate of mine used to work for speckys in aberdeen & said there's no way he would put a car in there for anything, as it's just a production line with performance related pay! IE. get em in & out as fast as possible! Personally I'd buy a car with an independent history over a main dealed any day!

Maybe I'm biased tho!

main dealers use a beiseebarth 4 wheel alignment machine which does an extreamly accurate job, the programme takes about 1 hr and 45 mins to complete and then adjustment have to be made on top of that, my dealer charges 2.5 hrs including all adjustments and you get a before and after printout to confirm, at the end of the day you go where you can afford, national tyres once charged me £10 TO DO A FULL WHEEL ALIGNMENT, however after 5k i had ripped my tyres to pieces so done a full wheel alignment myself and found the tracking to be miles out, doh!

I got a full before and after readout and am very pleased with the results, before it was showing within some tolerances up front in yellow, although some of the readouts were red, but the rear was completly out and after all the reds were green!

Likewise with mine, I was there during the alignment & the system they use is accurate to 1 minute of a degree.

Again it's not just a case of going where you can afford it's a case of whom you trust in my book.

Personally I have a little too much inside info on the MD's to put my car in there when I know I could do a better job myself.
The problem with most MD's is the massive turnover of staff which leads to fewer people knowing the car's inside out & also the lack of training on the specialist equipment they use.

Same goes for the sales staff, a mate of mine went in to order one of the first S3's off the line & the sales in aberdeen never even knew it existed.
Another example is when I made enquiries about the S4/RS4 cabrio I was met with a blank look

Jabba Sport now do 4 wheel alignment and have a Beissbarth machine, there charging £60, think i'll get mine done there when it next gets serviced.
