312mm carriers

    where is the cheapest place to get them from ? i refuse to pay over £150 for 2 bits of metal

    gunna go to the scrappy tomorrow after work, what cars have 312mm front set up

    golf (MK4)
    Octavia VRS
    S3
    TT (MK1)

    is that correct ?

    That list looks about right to me. (Golf MKIV - the Anniversary models have 312mm brakes, standard 1.8T's have 288mm).

    I got mine by trawling Fleabay and sending a message to all people who advertised any MK1 TT's that were breaking / being broken.

    I asked for only the carriers, not calipers and eventually struck lucky. All done from the comfort of my living room whilst watching countless repeats of Top Gear on Dave...

    Oh, and then I found a pair of genuine 312mm disks (new) for less than the price of a set of cheap new pattern parts, again using Fleabay. Bingo.

    I paid £80 for a set that have NEVER been fitted from a member on here, happy days :D

    They are only so much new, have the bill for mine for £135 posted, they was brand new with new slider bolts and sleeves.

    Used ones should still be around the £80-100, maybe £120 including disks if you are lucky.
