I need to buy winter wheels and tyres as my s3 and me are in Oslo this winter. My current rim size is the factory supplied 18"x7.5j ET54.

Can someone tell me what range of offset I can get away with? e.g. would a ET35 fit or can I go no lower than ET45 for example?. I'm planning on buying secondhand (as there are loads for sale here) and clearly this is important.

Also can I go smaller than 18" rim i.e. 17" or even 16"?

Dont think id get anythin less than an 18 over ur brakes. 345mm i think. As for offsets again i think its a case of clearance for the huge brakes. But ill wait for someone to confirm

I think 17s will fit over the S3 brakes, but 16s won't. And ET range will vary with the wheel's width (you'll get a lower ET 7" on than an 8.5"). ET45 is probably a good target to work with to avoid any issues, and down to 40 will liekly fit on an 8" or narrower. Talk to N8, he'll know for sure. Or find a wheel you like and get the specs, then he'll be able to tell you if it'll fit.

mines 18x8 et42 and they sit pretty flush with the arches with no spacers.
