[2008 TTS] Convenience Windows not working?

As above, Windows are not Auto opening or closing from the fob?

Do they have to be enabled via VAGCOM as well as on the DIS menu in the car?

Try pressing the unlock button twice on the fob and hold it in on the second.

I’ve tried this method of reset too:

Doors open
Ignition on
Open both windows fully
Close both windows fully
Release buttons
Hold buttons up for 5 seconds
Release buttons
Ignition off

Just for future reference for anyone that has a similar problem:

Car went to a local bodyshop at the expense of the dealer I bought it from, he found that a non genuine window regulator had been fitted which was both too stiff and broken, he's fitted a genuine regulator and has told me that the windows no go up/down when the door is opened/closed, hopefully the convenience windows are now working too, I'll test this when I get the car back in a day or two.
