2008 2.0 Tdi Balance Shaft Timing

I have the old problem of the wear and tear on the slave balance shaft and hex pin. I am having this reconditioned but wanted to know if anyone can explain to me how to set the timing on the gear driven balance shaft oil pump. All advice appreciated. I am new to this site so if I've posted this in the wrong section I apologise.

what mileage has your car done,and what symptoms do you have or had?
is it 08 or 58 and whats the exact date of manufacture?
Full service history?

is it a b7 or b8 ?
