2007 a4 2.0 tdi se mpg computer

hi got a problem with mpg computer it says 1 then the mpg goes to 8mpg then 50mpg then 200mpg then --- is there a way to reset on journeys trips seems strange am i not doing something right help please cheers

That's the realtime mpg, just press the up or down button on the righthand stalk to change this.

Or press the button on the underside of the right stalk this take to the average info so no real tiime.
