I've decided it's time to move on from the S3 as i've now had it for 2 years. It has been a great car - great power, huge levels of grip and total comfort. Great in the winter too. I'd like it to go to an enthusiast. Factory spec was as follows; 2003 (52 plate) Facelift model BAM engine code Dolphin Grey 18" RSTT alloys with 'gmbh' suspension upgrade (-10mm) Centre armrest Recaro armchairs - black leather, electric, non-heated Bose stereo, sub, speakers Piano black trim Climate control Xenons etc I've owned it since 2nd Oct 2009 when it was on around 65k, it's now just ticked over to 84k this week. The service book is fully stamped, showing the following; Delivery Inspection - Audi UK, Bicester - 14/11/03 18,330 miles - Smith, Knight, Fay Audi, Stockport - 02/01/04 35,495 miles - Harrogate Audi - 13/09/05 48,447 miles - Stirling Audi - 10/04/07 63,662 miles - Aberdeen Audi - 30/03/09 - Timing Belt Then I bought it and took it off LongLife service schedule... 72,071 miles - AW Autotech - 04/03/10 - Full service + Haldex, oil flushed 80,605 miles - AW Autotech - 10/03/11 - Major service + Transmission fluid & fuel filter, oil flushed The car had 4x Uniroyal Rainsport 2 tyres in march 2010 at 72,336 miles. One was replaced due to a puncture in March this year. All have good tread left and they are superb tyres. Great in the dry but unbeatable in the wet - perfect tyres for the British weather! Upgrades over standard spec; Engine: Custom-Code Phase One ECU re-map Pipercross panel filter Forge 007p Diverter Valve & yellow spring Autobahn88 silicone turbo intake pipe Suspension: Bilstein B8 shocks fitted Feb this year & H&R -30mm springs fitted Feb this year - The best suspension combo you can get for the 8L, costs £700+ fitting. Brakes: Front - Brembo Max Grooved discs & Ferodo DS2500 pads, plenty of meat left on both Rear - new standard discs and Mintex pads fitted a couple of months ago Chassis: R32 rear ARB & FloFlex ARB polybushes & Powerflex red (diesel - less vibration) Dogbone mount bushes fitted a couple of months ago Other stuff: 15mm spacers on the rear & 10mm spacers on the front Grille painted satin black Heko wind deflectors Bosch Aero wiper blades Genuine S3 solid alloy mirror casings (I have the original body coloured ones but one has a crack) The car has always been run on V-Power while i've owned it. It has always been warmed up before applying boost. It has always been totally reliable, except for a couple of months ago when the battery packed up and was replaced. No issues with anything before or since. Rear calipers replaced with refurbished ones (painted red) when rear discs and pads were changed. Bad points: Patches of surface rust on inside edge of front arches, caused by grit flying off front tyres. Would be easily treated. Small patch of rust on bottom right corner of the tailgate, again would be easily treated. Tailgate microswitch not working, boot releases using key fob button. Rear window wash not working - pipe has come uncoupled under the car. Never bothered me but an easy fix. Passenger seat doesn't slide when tilted, you need to slide then tilt, or tilt then slide! Probably an easy fix but never bothered me. A few stone chips on the bonnet and bumper but really not many considering the age of the car. A few tiny scratches and scuffs that i'm sure could be polished out. Genuine RSTT alloys could do with a refurb. * I'm probably making the car sound much worse than it is, just trying to be honest for you ASN members* I had the car dyno'd at Wallace Performance at the start of the year (Eastside VW forum RR Day) - 254bhp @ 5.8k & 298lb/ft @ 3.5k and then again at the start of July (Track Scotland RR Day) - 242bhp @ 5.2k & 304lb/ft @ 3.4k. Printouts below. Very realistic figures from the Wallace dyno. Other people will claim 270bhp+ from the same mods, but they are full of ****. The drop from 254 to 242bhp was most likely due to the increased ambient temp, but I had the N75 valve changed anyway. The car holds more PSI higher up the rev range with the new N75. Looking through the documents to type this up i've just realised it's due an MOT. I will get this done and it will be sold with 12 months MOT and 6 months tax. I'm looking for £6,300 ono which I think is fair considering the spec of the car and the relatively low milage and sought-after colour. Will part exchange for a Mk1 Golf GTi or maybe Mk1 Polo or Mk1 Scirocco, possibly a nice Mk2 Golf. I'll also be looking for a 4x4 winter hack too... I've probably forgotten a few things but will update this post if necessary. Cheers folks! Email: email@example.com Car located in Aberdeen. I can meet anyone off the train or at the airport (where I work).
