2003 a3 sport 17" alloys on my a4 b5....both 112's but are spacers really needed???

    hi all....i have a cgreat a4 b5 in jasper green and been offered a nice set of sport alloys from a 2003/04 a3 pcd are all the same but its the offset thats got me thinking.........mine is 45 and the a3 are 56 but my wheels are 7j and the a3 are 7.5j ????..........are my thoughts correct in thinking that they will only sit in 5mm inside rear arches??? confused lol :jester:

    if they were both 7J, the higher offset means they'd sit 11mm further in.

    Given the A3 ones are slightly wider, you will end up with an extra 1/4" on either side, meaning the end result would have the outer face of the rim 6mm in from where it is now, but the inner face would be 17mm further in, and probably fouling on the suspension components.

    You ideally want some 12 or 15mm hubcentric spacers and suitably extended bolts.
