its an S reg A4 SE and the drivers side ball joint has gone, iv been told the whole arm needs replaced, where is the best/cheapest place to pick these up? How much for a genuine audi one and where else sells them?

Also, the air con is now just blowing warm air, is this is case of needing servicing or filling up or an complete recon? What are my options?

    Many thanks

absolutely. Not worth taking to the dealer to change a control arm. Dealer will charge £80-120 (+labour) depending on which of the 4 arms on the affected side it is. A pattern part will cost between £30-40, and be cheaper to fit.

As for the aircon, take it to a specialist. B5's have a nasty habit of failing evaporators. They'll be able to presure test it and tell for sure.
