2.5 TDi not charging - help!

Hi,

on my way home tonight I noticed the battery light come on, and the volt gauge dropped to below 12 volts.

Checked all fuses and they're all fine. Also, VCDS doesn't show any faults.

Any suggestions before I start shelling out big £££s?

I suspected; are they difficult to change on the 2.5? Could it just be the regulator as well?

If your alternator is valeo you need a whole replacement of your alternator.As they give problem with their rotors,but i expect you have many miles ,so you must change also regulator,bearings,its better to get a whole unit.If its bosch 99% is regulator problem.Hope i helped.
