    Hey guys,

Looking for a bit of advice on an issue im having with my A3. Car starts fine, no issues, but when i set off and change up in gears there's a noticeable drop in power immediately after changing... Most noticeable between 2nd and 3rd and 3rd and 4th. The car never used to be like this and it only started happening after i put some deisel fuel treatment in the engine the last time i filled up...

The best way to describe it is that the car seems to struggle to adjust to the new gear for 1/2 to 1 seconds before resuming acceleration as usual.

any ideas on what this might be? Already spent 2.5k extra ont his car since i bought it 11 months ago and I'm dreading this being the start of yet another wallet burning crusade through the audi garage.

    Thanks in advance!

Sure someone will move it for you.

sounds like you have sticking vnt vanes though, which struggle to adjust during gear change.. Google sticking vnt .. Common problem on TDIs

Thanks man, definitely looks like something similar to what im experiencing although im getting no error codes thrown at me?

No im no mechanic, and i can just about change a tyre.... this looks like something which isnt particularly easy to fix....

Am i looking at yet another hefty bill? :S

I've been having the same problem for a while now. Replaced MAF, fuel filter (bit of improvement after changing the latter). There are no overboost codes, car does not go into limp mode which I thought it would with sticking turbo vanes.

Same engine as yours, turbo was replaced 20k miles ago.

yeah my turbo was replaced about 25k ago, its concerning though as this only started after i put the diesel fuel treatment solution in the engine (Redex Diesel Injector Cleaner)...

I used injector cleaners a few times as well. Never thought that could be related. Might just be coincidence.
