Hi, I first got my car in November and had an blacksmoke remap on it the same day, it ran faultless for a week and a half until somebody reversed into me (small hole in the bumper and the front panel screw hole broken, nothing major by any means - Just toebar damaged the bumper really on the passenger side) Returned it to standard while any work was carried out. So the radiator ect had to be disconnected to replace these, it was compression tested fine after - according to the garage.

Got the car back on Monday and put the remap back on (the same remap) and then all of a sudden when overtaking the car bog's out at 60, and had no power until it was restarted. The car has been fine ever since but i got this fault code...

    000564 - Boost Pressure Regulation P0234 - 000 - Limit Exceeded (Overboost Condition) - Intermittent

Is this anything to worry about or is it due to the car not being driven for 8 weeks and being on minus fuel while the garage did it? Like I say the fault code hasn't come back and hasn't done it again despite being to 90 several times on a private road.

Anyway, it snowed yesterday so was pretty cold (Not 100% sure weather I read somebody about the coolant contracting) but the car 'struggled' to start and the coolant light was on when I got in it this morning it was half way between min/max, so I filled it back up to max and was on my way.... There is no fault codes when i scanned it 5 mins ago.

Now then the temperature sensor won't stay at 90 like it did before, it rests on the mark before and sometimes dropped and the coolant is now above max. The heaters are scolding and work perfectly and the temperature sensor got closer to 90 when i turned the heaters down.

Anybody know what I'm looking to replace? What the issue is? And why the car did the thing with the boost? One off's after not being driven ect?

07 A3 DSG Facelift so its a later BKD engine with 60k on it.

    Thanks for any help

Beeping is the prongs in the bottle need a scraping with a long screwdriver, they have become contaminated and the water isn't touching the prong.
Not holding temperature when moving and rising when stopped is the thermostat.

    Not sure on other problems

Its possible the turbo vanes have stuck a little whilst static, considering its given a boost error, its the beginnings of overboost issues & my advice is to remove & clean the turbo before it gets stuck permanently & causes a hell of a mess, forget the spray cleaning kits from innotec, get it of & cleaned properly, the cost will be far less than replacing & cleaning everything out.

Thanks for the replies, been and cleaned the prongs now so hopefully no more coolant issues and will look to getting the thermostat replaced. I presume I will have to get some sort of turbo specialist to clean it properly? I'm only a basic car person and would make a mess of even changing the thermostat.. Should I wait to see if it does it again or go straight into looking to get it cleaned?
