Are there two different sorts of fuel filter? Got one for my BLB and it looks identical apart from the inlet pipes are smaller so the tubes don't fit properly?

Yep, they gave me the 1.9 one with a part code starting 1J0. They were extremely apologetic and changed it for the 2.0 one with part code starting 8E0.

When I had my filter changed the hoses under the clips had perished so I had to trim the hoses back when refitting.
Fortunately there was enough slck in the hoses to do this.

Cheers Paul. They weren't too bad thankfully. Car is better since the new filter. Coincidentally, a guy at work broke down and the AA said he had a blocked fuel line, he had filled up the tank at Morrisons shortly before hand. The AA guy said he'd had a spate of problems with breakdowns involving Morrisons fuel these last few weeks.
