hi all how much you paid for timing belt and water pump replacment???
From memory Audi charge about £400 ish for belt change as part of their fixed price servicing. be surprised if that includes the water pump though.
£399 from audi + cost of water pump.
A good indi is around £300 + £65 for water pump.
£360 at a vw/audi specialist
Been quoted £530 to £550 at dealer inc water pump.
And £430 at specialist.
I paid £350 with waterpump at Audi. Haggle!!! They need the work!
£312 at AMD Essex
£250 Mates rates. Dont pay more than about £350 unless you like making Audi money! Indy or haggle!
I paid £310 inc VAT from midland VW about 2 weeks ago! They did it in about 3 - 4 hours on a Saturday which was good
Can you LMK which one (just the town would probably do) please Tim. I need a new one very soon. Been quoted £500 by two independents in Essex!
doing it with genuine parts at trade price plus £45ish for myself in labour on my drive the weekend before last. cost xtremedetailz £220 including waterpump.
took me about 2 hours inc coffee/fag breaks.
shows the profit audi makes doesnt it!?
Theres only one I think
Many thanks Murran, I know it`ll be fiddly due the engine bay squash. I`ve a mate who who will do it (when he`s done his kitchen!) with me as his spanner-holder and I`ll only get the garage to do it if he can`t. The local indies £500 sounded a bit much for 4hrs labour when the parts are only about £150. Tim`s £312 from AMD sounded a bit better.
Several I believe Tim, Harlow,Stortford,Chelmsford,Harold Wood,Colchester.
The one next to Lakeside .. Thurrock. Only one I have been to.
Cannot recommend Murran enough.. Could definitely tell he had done a fair few before as he had it all done in 2 hours from start to finish and very professionally at the same time.
Your local dealer must do but my local obviously doesn't! Refused to budge on there £579 price!
