2.0 TDi 177 cutting out with glow plug & engine light

Posting on behalf on a friend

Car is a 2013 2.0 tdi 177bhp, just experiencing issues with the car cutting out and the glow plug & engine light showing

If he turns off the start/stop feature it doesn't happen

Anyone have any ideas what it could be before it gets on a diagnostic machine?

Has it got a tunning box fitted?

No totally standard

"Cutting out" is not a typical DPF fault so it could be s sensor. Diagnostics is the only real way forward

Pull fault codes with VCDS and take it from there.
