2.0 TDI 140BHP turbo problems

Hello to all

car is a 2006 a3 tdi sport 2.0, recently car has been letting out lots off grey/blue smoke and the boost is really not there! car is on 96k miles could this be the end off the turbo?

need to add:

also the engine gives a slight judder in gear one. and revs will sometimes stick at 3500? vag com reads clear.

mmmm if the turbo is the original on 96K then it may well be on its way out.

Mine went at 70k so yours has done pretty well really. All you can do is take it to be check out by an audi specilist.

Out of interest, what's a guide price on a turbo replacement ?

For a recon, I think your looking at 550/600 fitted

Expect to pay atleast £600 fitted. If you are brave enough to take it on your self you can pick up a recon fro £400 + your old turbo.

I'm brave enough to repair mine and put it back
