2.0 tdi 140 oil usage

Hi do the tdi's use a bit of oil ? As never owning a diesel untill now it seems to have used a litre of oil over a 7 month period is this normal ?

My uses a bit. It always seems to be about 1000 miles before its due a service so I know its consistant

I previously had a Golf 2.0 GT TDI (140). same engine as above, and I was always topping up with oil.
20,000 mls / year & approx 3 litres of oil.... not excessive, but apparently quite normal!!

iv only had 1 thats used oil and iv owned quite a few
