Just noticed today on my 2005MY A3 2.0 FSI that the coolant level was just slightly low, so I opened the cap to take a look and the coolant was bubbling up and rising to the top, then dripping from underneath somewhere.
The engine bay felt very hot after only going for a short drive at fairly low speeds, but the temperature gauge never went above 90deg.
The car runs otherwise A1, but you can hear the coolant bubbling away from inside the car.
Any thoughts? Could it just be a dodgy expansion tank/cap?
