    Thanks tufty. I have read the stickies and understand what is needed to use a laptop. However, my laptop battery died a slow and painful death and I live in a flat so no plug sockets outside. I just wanted to know if that code reader would do the trick. Nicely put though. :)

    Shame... these generic code readers are so limiting at times... VCDS is soooooooooooo much better even in its limited 'Lite' form but appreciate its tricky without an actual laptop lol...

    Got it today. Link failed error :( works fine on my sisters 2002 mk4 golf. Oh well another £10 wasted :(
