1998 2.8 Q ECU Remap

I've been searching for info in this, I followed a link from a previous post to AMD who offer the remapping to give upto 15HP more. However on searching the net more I came across one vendor that stated it was not possible on cars before 1999, from there onwards i only saw reference to the later 3.0 and and A3 3.2 V6 engines.

any ideas? Is this simply a case of AMD getting their facts wrong or just that they're the only ones mad enough to try this remap?

It can be done but its not worth it for the money.
