Will 215/35/r19 fit my audi a3 2001 1.6 ? i see everyone else is using 18" but i was just wondering if those would fit . they are 5x100.

iv also bought this Supersport Black Evolution - PARTS AND RETARDS AS is there anything else i could do to make it look better ?
    Thanks :)

I personally think that 19's are too big for the car and they never sit right on them

Look ****, drive **** and a 1.6 won't have enough torque to turn them.

    Fit them.

It will always look stupid on 19's. Because they are too big.

And it will always have problems with driving. Because they are too big.

You won't be able to lower it without serious arch work. Because they are too big.

    Get the idea?

And it would have looked ****, driven **** and required a lot of arch work to have been lowered.

Let me answer this question seriously. If the rims you are looking at are 8" wide, and have offset of ET35, then it will fit with 215/35R19 tyres, it shouldn't have any clearance issues.

It will look like an offroader of course, but you said you are lowering it anyways.

Be aware that 19s are usually heavy, so it will cripple your mpg, you will need to rev the b0ll0cks out of the poor 1.6 to get anywhere.

Thanks alot for the serious answere :)
I started doing some research and used some tire calculators and found out that the 19" are actually 0.14cm on the diameter smaller than the original, so it should fit :)

But because you have much more wheel that tyre, the ride will be terrible with them.

Think basically what we're going for here is... Thanks but I'll do it anyway.
19" wheels look stupid on A3's and as pointed out, it's only a 1.6... It's going to struggle. They belong on bigger cars.

Anyone thinking of putting 19s on their A3 won't care about ride comfort, I assure you! It's a given than it will ride bad!

I totally disagree with this! People have been putting unusually large rims on small cars for a while! Irrespective of engine model, it's going to look the same on a 1.6 as it is on a standard bodied 1.8T running 200bhp! Is it going to struggle being a 1.6? I doubt it, it's not exactly a fireball in standard form, so I doubt he will miss the few secs it will take to get to 60 from standstill! I know, I use to drive around in a B5 Passat 1.6(same unit) which is heavier and I was running 19s! You just need to rev a bit more to get anywhere!

Thanks for the positive feedback, and yes if the only thing i was aiming for was the best driving i wouldnt even bother changing rims from the original. i will post pictures when i get the 19" on :)

The 1.6 is not very powerful, i would go for a 1.8t, but as i live in norway and insurance prices are insane i guesss i have to stick to the 1.6 for a while.

Ran 19's for a while, handling wasn't great! to get lower I would have needed some stretch which would have made the ride terrible, so I sacked them off and went back to 17's :0)

    personally I have 18's in my 1.8T, as yours is a 1.6 I'd possibly go for 17's... 18's at a push, 17's for you I'd say:yes:

Yeah can see it, looks alright, I would of went a couple or one lower at least, when you lower it, might want to consider the arches too, as by the picture they're not far off touching already by the looks of it.

    Though I may be wrong.

I do indeed... and no mate! Are you sure you have put ur top mounts in?! Or they might be seriously worn? Did you fit them yourself or did a garage do it?

i fitted them myself and got some help form a guy who knows how it is suposed to be and he told me they sit high on both this type of car and gold mk4 but still, they sit very high, by the top mount do you mean that thick rubber thingy ? and if you do yes i have that on both sides on the top, but it might be worn, som im gonna try to buy a new tomorrow

and even if they are suposed to sit high, it should not be diffrent on each side...

Ah ha. I'd say if you had a 1cm gap that would be considered sitting high. Mine used to sit about 2cm with seriously worn top mounts and when I got new ones they sit around 5mm high. Yes the thick rubber thingies lol. I'd say get the wheels off and have a look make sure everything is sitting right and the coilover is seated properly in the hub. If so... change the top mounts and bearings and see how it sits then :)
