Interested in doing the clutch on my car as just had remap and figure it will only be a matter of time before the clutch needs doing so wanted to keep a look out for parts now. It's a 3dr 2004 2.0 tdi manual gearbox on 52k miles and remap to approx 170bhp.

If anyone knows the exact parts needed (presume clutch and DMF) and their part numbers that would be great

Also is the clutch on the 170bhp 2.0 tdi a direct fit and is it a better clutch to fit

Do any other model in the A3 range share the same clutch?

    Thanks for any help

AFAIK the clutch on the 170 is the same as the 140. However on all models there is a confusion on what type of clutch/flywheel is fitted either Luk or Sachs and can only be known when the gearbox is off. Apparently they must be replaced like with like but I don't understand if you are changing for example the flywheel and the clutch that you can't just use either.

I've got a full Sachs clutch on the way but as I've only had one slight clutch slip yesterday I think the flywheel should be ok - fingers crossed I've not got the LUK fitted?!?
