erm should be £110 unless the avant has a higher co2 output or they've just changed the fees.

Just taxed my 130 1.9 tdi saloon and it was £77 for 6 months or £140 for the year! I'm pretty sure it was only £115 last year so bless 'em for putting it up by so much!

Well none, but they have to pay Vechicle Registration Tax to the government on every car to even keep it on the road. Thats a percentage of the cars selling price.

Then they get screwed over regular car tax, paying £10 for every 0.1 of a litre. My girlfriends dad drives a 2.5l Legacy, only £550 a year! Bargain.

Celtic tiger properly fecked them over down south.

Fvckin right! If we import a car under 2L we pay the government 25% of what they think is the open market selling price just to register it in the country! Thats before paying for road tax and the NCT! If it is 2L or higher engine size it is 30% to import it!!!!!

My 2004 130 just cost £140. Checking the old tax discs (I know, it's sad to keep them) and it was £135 for 2004, 2005 and 2006

u guys are so lucky it makes me :puke: !
cheaper cars, cheaper tax. Even though I paid an average uk price for my a4 (in UK terms) and had to pay 3300 on top of that in VRT, it still was cheaper than if I bought it here as an original Irish car. Only saved about 500-700Eur but it shows you how cheap you guys are getting stuff.
Pity my wife wont move to Norther Ireland!

It won't be a 140 Quattro as they don't make them anymore! Did you mean a 170Q?

Interesting, the check I did was on the 140Q, though looking at the figures it probably wont cost any more to tax
