1 fog light and then two or even none.

I think I missed some motoring advances or styling or something.

For the past couple of weeks I've notice more and more cars with one fog light one when turning a corner and then both comes on or the one that was on turns off.

Is this a style feature or some safety feature?
    And whats the point?

My car has it listed in the DIS, but I turned it off.

It's like comfort cornering, I don't know if it's supposed to help the driver at night (a bit like poor man's adaptive xenons which turn according to steering angle adjustment), or whether it's a forthcoming Euro reg to give further insight to other road users that a car is about to turn in a particular direction.

It looks a bit bent TBH, hence why I turned it off!

    Can't see the point really.
Do front fogs really produce enough light for it to be noticeable?

When they were turned on I couldn't tell that they were making any discernible difference, but then my fog lights may not be strictly MoT legal as they're 5000k light temp and light they give off is quite poor!

Mercedes started this maybe 5 years ago?

It seems everyone from Fiat to SEAT is doing it now.

I'd turn it off if my car did it, looks bent as you say.

I got pulled and hit with a £30 fine a couple of years ago for having my fog lights on when it wasnt foggy. Id put them on because it was a bit rural where i was and couldnt see very well, the coppers said it wasnt foggy so had no excuse. So if the lights now come on by themselves in some cars when cornering does this not justify a fine aswell?

Josh surely that counts for a refund??

I noticed this a while ago and even think i created a thread about it as I only used to see it on Mercs, I honestly thought it was a fault of some sort where the fog lights kept blowing on them!!!

They are suppose to light up the side you are turning into, to enable you to see the apex of a corner(kerb in other words) when turning in.

I thought it was a fault at first, i first started noticing them on newer golfs and thought there was soemthing wrong with them. But now it seams to be all seats and golfs that it does it on. Dont think ill bother trying to get a refund, it was in scotland and was bout 2 years ago, would be more hassle than its worth. Glad my car doesnt do it, i think it looks **** and pointless to be honest.

I live in Gildersome, what about you? ive got an A3 2.0TDI 54reg. Havent done anything major to it, just tints all round and LED lights inside and front. Would put a pic up, but havent worked out how to get it in the name box yet.
