Before buying a replacement ECU it's worth taking to a specialist, on the bench you can recover seemingly dead ECU's with EEPROM errors for instance, if you wipe the ECU then reflash the EPROM on power down it rewrites the EEPROM from RAM and all is well again.
Just a quick thought would a wiki be a good idea?
If you have a 1999 A3 1.8 t the water pipe is not made any more mine has been down for 70 days trying to find a 2nd hand one
I have a Audi A3 1.8t S reg (1998) - My car has been of the road for some 100 days waiting for a water pipe. Dates when this part would be available have come and gone the latest is the 1st of May 2008 . My research as unearthed the last time the part was made was oct 2007 . I have contacted Audi customer Services and as my car is not in an Audi garage no loan car .
I have read that parts must be available for 10yrs after the lunch of the car is this true?
