I'm hoiking my engine out for some tlc and a clutch, front end is off which was easy enough but thought I would ask for any hints and tips before tackling turbo and lifting.

I have searched the net and found nothing on 1.8t removal...any steer would be appreciated, thanks.

All i can think of that cause any problems are the 3 bolts from engine to bellhousing that reside behind the subframe. The engine needs to be lifted out of it's mounts to allow access to them

Helpful, thanks. when all else is free I lift the engine a little to access those last three bolts? Correct?

yep. it comes out pretty easy once everything is out the way. when you have the engine out might be worth removing the sump to clean out any sludge from the pick up. i was going to do mine but couldnt be ***** in the end.

Good stuff, is there a best way to disconnect the turbo/exhaust etc. I've done this sort of thing many times but not dealt with turbos much.
