AmDs stage 1 is quoted as improving torque by 40lb ft and bhp by 40 so working on the assumption that both cars are producing there standard power of 150bhp for the 1.8T and 180bhp for the 1.8TQ then the 1.8T would only be 10bhp more than a standard 1.8TQ after the remap.

whats different on the 1.8T stopping them from mapping it to 220bhp which the 1.8TQ can potentially be.

You'll probably find the turbo's are different hence the different tunability. 1.8T 150hp having a KO3 and the 1.8TQ 180hp being a KO3s.

I was unaware they had different turbos

i thought they were the same turbos as i have had quotes for work by a Revo outlet and also Jabba who can both get that sort of power from the 150hp unit... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Late 2000 on 180 cars have a ko3s/052 turbo, earlier 180's have same turbo as 150 models but with a different actuator.Outputs after chipping vary due to engine spec, later engines ie with vvt and or 052 turbos and very early large ported type produce more power "fact".No tuner will guarantee any outputs,it will vary from car to car. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gifAndy
