s3 owners can you post up your times and what mods you have please

i have an s3 got a fair bit of weight off it, spare wheel all tools, battery box rear seats, 18" lightweight wheels probaly took about 80-90kg off the car belive the rear seats weigh 40kg? also got forge intake/dv and scorpion cat back! you reckon it should be in the 13s?

    Cheers

When I got my S3, it did 13.9 after a few tries and that was 100% stock with no weight reductions either. With mods should be looking to be better then that :s3addict:

Let me get this one right? You have pretty much dismantled a mint S3 interior so you can get a time of 13 seconds or below? :faint:

I can't help but think you have bought the wrong car to run down a drag strip.

An S3 is a classy motor, it's stylish and is prestige. IMO you should of bought a version 5 or 6 Subaru STI and stripped that, they are light to start with and shift and has the pedigree to be on a track or a strip.

Each to their own fella, but i wouldn't be doing that to an S3 that can only be 4 years old at the most!

Man after my own heart !! Its all about power weight ratio and in most cases its far cheaper to drop the weight than up the power. Hats off to you :)

With 80-90kg off the car, forge intake/dv and scorpion cat back you will easily be in the 13's.

I know what people are saying, the S3 is not the car for the drag strip but i was amazed
at how slow most of subaru's actually are.

Just for a laugh me and my passenger drove down the strip and managed a 13.56 @ 103.

My mods are Forge DV, Milltek resonated TBE, Revo Stage 2.

My 3.2 will hang on the back of a subaru, in fact as speed builds i am reigning them back in fast past 80-90mph. dont know why but they run out of puff past 100.

Says on their website 3.6 secs i think.:readit::think: with a tasty 400bhp. That's what happens when Cosworth gets involved..!!!!!!!!!!

The trouble with impreza's is they are so boring inside and dare i say it..cheap !! Its ok if you just want to go quick with lots of service bills but my car has to be capable of clocking up miles

Well for starters...they dont seem to do an STi any more but a WRXS is flat out at 130 and still 6 seconds to 60 which is why my old 3.2 could keep up without much trouble...in fact any further and i would have powered past him as he hit his top end....Verdict ?? not impressed really.
strangely i like the 1 series coupe...in 135 trim its a nice thing...
Caymen...well its drop dead sexy....so its the best.A nice thing to look at, to own, to drive and to love and cherish:wub:...
Vxr...Serves a purpose, cheap to buy and probably all the fun you need given the state of the roads and the amount of traffic these days...
Focus....Just too plain embarrassing to be seen in.
S3...Well contrary to popular opinion i like them but i would want DSG and buckets and RNSE and stage 2 and ...and ..and ..solar orange and black trim pack and wheels....And at that price i would have a 911/caymen/Merc SL450/TTS etc....
There ya go....Tell its a slow day at work :)

NEW STi is 330bhp....0-62 4.8secs tops out at 155mph........Sure that will keep up with your old 3.2:asskicking:

Speaking to the lads on the Subaru websites the service bills are not much more than my 3.2. depends how you treat the cars i guess..

I'm going to have to get one...but I will go back to Audi with out a doubt

My A3 does the quarter at the pod in 14.44secs.

    The Polo does mid 13's.

was at the GTI summer festival at the pod a few years back and a scooby went for a run,the announcer said U-R-A-BUS ?? didn't know what the hell he was on about until he said its SUBARU backwards....was funny then.
    Good luck Luke

This was with a dropped clutch launch (manual gearbox) at roughly between 3.5k to 4k rpm idling. I think if you launch the car past 4k it will bog down, that's what I experienced with stock clutch. Hoping to get a Helix SMF 6 paddle clutch which I'm assured doesn't have any of the sach symptoms, is 15% heavier paddle feel over stock and can be launched upto 6k :hubbahubba:

    Haz1,
I have only ever had a few goes at Santa Pod so can you tell me the best way you have found to get a good start / launch
Not exactly sure what dropping the clutch means :ermm:.
i.e do you rev to approx 3.5k - 4k then just side step the clutch moving your foot to the right so the clutch comes up as fast as it can or just let it up quickly with your foot?

Well this is my way of doing things but would be more then glad if someone tells me a better way. On the dragstrip I press the clutch fully down then build the revs up to 3.5k but I don't keep the revs steady I slightly tap the accelorater so the needle's not pinned at 3.5k. When the lights change then I fully press the accelorater while at the same time take my foot of the clutch swiftly. After a few practices you will get better and better. Hope that helps, let me know if this makes sense lol.

you'll be waiting a long time; a casualty of a very big bill. Haven't heard sight or sound of poor old Andy for quite some time. He had a mint car, such a shame.

13.1 @ 107 nearly 108, at Santa Pod, it was first run of day. I give it full beans near enough, SM flywheel helps but getting 2nd gear is hard, only managed to get it on two runs. I'm 17 stone and had full interior, I think I could below 13 if I got a stiffer engine mount.

Im aiming for under 13 secs too but i haven't been a drag strip since last year. Very impressed with the time you got actually i'll be very happy with a 13.1, btw since you have a SMFW what rpm did you launch the car at and how does it feel to a stock clutch/DMFW setup?
