Slight buzz / Rattle from Instrument Cluster

My knob rattles :hubbahubba: The little silver one on the handbrake. I recently had a coolant leak too, the heater matrix sprung a leak and dumped steam into the cabin via the vents. Smelled awful, could see a damn thing as the windows misted instantly! Fixed now, keep ousting the...

    Brake pad wear

I managed to run mine out in 22K for both the front and rears, but then that is a lot of country roads with 0-60-0 a lot of the time and I do drive hard. I now have redstuff pads all round and EBC sport discs on the front and now find that the braking is much more responsive. The thing that...

    Do your brakes....

Have you physically checked your pads? This sounds similar to the noise mine made when the discs and pads needed changing There is only one pad depth sensor on the front nearside pad. When I heard this noise it was comming from the rears, I had about 1mm of pad left but the discs had...

New EBC Red Stuff brake pads

Hi Folks Just a few picture then I'll give you my thoughts on them Picture of the front of the caliper, the blue arrow points to the place to pry the spring out. You need o remove this first, and reinstall it last as it makes life a lot easier, in fact you can't replace the...

    Overheating brakes

Well I hink that the offside caliper may have been installed badly when I had them changed recently as this is the ony one that has worn and it was uneven. The nearside only ahd about 5mm on them As for MPG average 15.5 Driving Fast around country roads, regulary up to speed and off again...

    Overheating brakes

I would be very cautious about leaving it to the brake indicator as it is only installed on the front nearside pad, so any uneven wear will ****** it up. I have just run through a set of pads in 8,000 miles, the front offside was the lowest and nearly so low the disc was at risk. This is the...

    damaged brake pad sensor

Which end of the cable is broken, Car side or pad side? The bit that clips to the car is car side, so getting this fixed may be a little more tricky.

    Rattle from drivers window...

I used to have that problem on both of my doors, driving me and the wife mad. Used Meguiars trim detailer on all of the rubbers and plastic inside and ouside, all of the way round the door. This seems to have cured it. Seems to last longer than washing up liquid :arco:

    Developing a problem?

When mine had a problem I got the audi tech guys to come and pick it up. This seemed to get round the fact that after it was driven to the dealer it got better when it warmed up. Like tibbs my gearbox had become clunky, and at time difficult to slide into gear. Then i got the slippping...

    Developing a problem?

yeah my dealer didn't have a scooby when I took mine in, initially the installed a "software patch", which i took to mean they''d changed the ecu code. Dealer had taken it for a test drive and it "was fine". Drove to work the next day and same problem. Dealer picks car up from work and takes...

    Developing a problem?

The problem with mine was very similar. In the cold it wasmuch worse, after it had been driven and warmed up it was much better. It was all replaced under warranty including the clutch. This sounds like a problem somewhere on the drivetrain to me. It would have to have been driven very...

    Bose

The argument about all of bose stuff will go on for a long time..... Personally I had to re-rip all of my CD's that were encoded at 192 mp3's up to 320 as I could tell the difference between them, and it was annoying me, on my Bose phatnoise combination. My Saturday job was a Hi-Fi...
