Same thing happened in my old a3. Local windscreen company used their 'best' glue and bonded it back on. The gel pad is for the rain sensor so needs to be kept safe and free from dirt.

You'll need to grab yourself a copy of Elsawin from ebay then you should have everything you need...

They'll generally work with the standard head units but you'd need a multi-function steering wheel to dial/answer through the DIS cluster, otherwise no way to control it.
