First off if your 2 lt you should be on the 8p A3 section
Anyway lift up rear seat and pull out the large black plastic plug in the floor
Check that the mark on the fuel sender unit lines up with th mark on the tank
If they dont the sender gets jammed on the side of the tank

what you mean is the ones you have seen look gash!
if you fit them using the A3 original brackets they fit great
they fit crap if you use the S3 brackets as per the guide ;)
I fitted a Milltek system for a Golf MkIV with 4 motion style outlet which is in right place for S3 bumper:uhm:
Measure the resistance on your old seats airbag plugs
then Maplin, eBay Resitors matching the resistance you get from the seat airbag plug

all the pics i can see show at least an inch of tread poking out beyond the front arches.
you would have to run about 8 degrees of negative camber to not hit the arch lip (thats how it looks) ;)
you might have billiard table smooth tarmac in Oz which will work fine.

Why would you space your wheels out so far you no longer have any suspension movement on the front?
Sorry but this wheel spacer fashion thing is pointless if it makes your car slower.

i just upgraded my tdi to audi TT 180 2WD 312 mm fronts which are great but also required hubs & bearings as most A3 tdi's have FSIII front brakes
where the caliper carriers are cast into the hubs so you cannot do much.
