I recently replace the air conditioning evaporator on my A6, which worked a treat however I have since been having an issue with the auxiliary fan kicking in almost all the time, which I believe should only happen when the car is getting too hot.

I’ve ordered a cheap cable of eBay this morning as it was only £8 so thought it was worth a shot. Done some more research and it appears other people have had the same problem after removing steering wheels etc .

We'll after spendingbest part of a day changing my air con evaporator I'm now left with an aibag light on constantly!! I did everything to the letter with regards removal/installation and have spent a good hour double checking all the connections are ok.
Is it worth getting one of those...
Managed to get an evaporator from a Hella importer near Oxford, which cost £200 (£70 less than Audi Reading) then changed it myself. Was an absolute bitch of a job an probably took me nearly 9 hours. Audi seem to have a good nack of making simple jobs very very hard!!

Eventually got an email from Audi UK yesterday followed by a phone call from the local dealership about 2hrs later to book my car in to have the work done as a gesture of goodwill!! Bearing in mind i'd already had it rejected twice I did not hold up much hope of anything being done but...
Cheers for the reply. I'm glad to hear someone has had some joy!! What do you think they will say if parts of the car have been resprayed?? I'm pretty sure the roof has not been touched but the boot lid was resprayed a while ago but not by Audi!
