that's awesome thank you very much .. not had chance to do anything else with it as of yet but will run an ignition live from fusebox to the correct pin.
next problem is the rear half been way to quiet. think i am just going to replace with a better products..
it's a permanent live, i have the HU front off today whilst the car has been stood, i'm hoping that it's enough to not drain the battery over night.
Am i right thinking an ignition live will correct this ???
first off let me start by saying i hate doing this ind of thing but needs must.. so new head unit supplied with aerial booster thing and harness.. everything plugs in but i have no power. i believe i have to run a permanent live ???

i am just about to swap my dead engine for another matching AUM. The new lump came with all ancillaries and ecu which has been mapped.(dyno sheet showing 200bhp/200 lb ft torque)
seen as my old engine was standard i want to use the remapped ecu. the ecu and engine in question came from a mk 4...
i am expecting there to be a fair bit of damage top end i was slowing from 45-50 mph. luckily i have fallen on another engine complete with gear box ancillaires and loom plus a remapped ecu although its useless for the minute

I have managed to find another AUM engine to replace mine it comes as a complete unit including gear box an ancillaries ecu and loom, the ecu is loaded up with a remap already. could it be as easy as plugging this ecu into my existing loom or do i need to replace igntion barrel to make use of...
the cam belt has gone.. not 100% on what has happened yet we will find out when the engine is out..
the fact that i was doing 40mph when it went suggests there might be extensive damage inside so she will have a heart transplant sometime next week
