Tekton tools, any good for diy mechanic?

originally dismissed these as cheap Chinese rubbish but was looking for a set of stubby rachet spanners and they look reasonably good quality. Did a little bit a research and they seem to get good reviews. My usual manufacturer of choice (teng tools) is what I consider to be best of the mid...

Man Gets Selected To Be A Judge At A Chili Cook-Off.

Don't know where this one originated, I found it on Facebook Man Gets Selected To Be A Judge At A Chili Cook-Off. If you can read this whole story without laughing, then there's no hope for you. I was crying by the end. This is an actual account as relayed to paramedics at a chili cook-off in...

O/T - Beware when buying a used Ross-Tech vcds cable

So today I emailed Ross tech asking for advice on how I can identify a genuine used Ross tech vcds cable to ensure I would not be contributing to the fraudsters at their expense. This is the reply I got which in my opinion devalues any used Ross tech vcds cable by a country mile! Enjoy.... Hi...

Pagid brake calipers - cheap Chinese rubbish or good aftermarket parts?

Sorry but I'm afraid this is a bit of a double post as I've asked this kind of question inside another thread. However I thought a new thread specifically on this subject may draw more attention. I need a new caliper and was wondering... Are Pagid brake calipers cheap rubbish or do they...

Hit a friggin massive pot hole, car appears to be damaged!

My luck's not so good lately... after recently suffering at the hands of a hit and run incident, I've now managed to hit a massive (and I mean massive) pot hole on M6. Was travelling at a slightly naughty 80mph and was changing lanes when it happened, I just didn't see it in time to avoid it...

What is it with the Audi under tray/belly pan fixings!!!

Seems every time my car is serviced (at the main dealers) I lose a couple of fixings that hold the various under trays in place. In credit to my dealer, they always bring the car in and replace the lost fixings foc but why on earth does this keep happening, surely they're capable of securing...

Happy 10th Birthday To My Car

Well nearly.... on 13th July 2016 my car will celebrate its 10th birthday. Was wondering how many other 10 + year old B7's we have on the forum and how well they are holding up in their old age?

    2.0TDI oil usage?

How much oil would you expect a 2.0TDI to eat? For the first time in over 2 years of ownership I've had to top up with oil between services. I've topped up with 1/2 litre after 7.5k miles. My car is 2006 Avant 2.0TDI (BRD 170), 90% motorway driving and not hanging around either. I haven't had...

You Park Like a T**t - Get That Photo Uploaded & That Rant Off Your Chest

Thought I'd copy an idea from a Facebook page I'm a member of where you can post up pictures and shame the people who just seem to have forgotten how to park appropriately. Add a rant if it makes you feel better :tongueclosed: This one is apparently from Oxford

Love to see (bad) bailiffs lose

It goes on for a long time but is facinating and very enlightening. Best of all the bailiffs get their *** kicked (in a non violent way). They're so ****** off I bet if the police weren't there it would've got real ugly.
