Give VW Heritage a call. They are in Shoreham by Sea and have just opened a workshop for VAG motors. They are Revo Agents and removed my Cat' innards when they remapped my car. 01273 444 000. Chris was the guy who I dealt with for the remap so I guess he would be the guy to ask for.

I had the same on my B6. Open the cover in the boot and check the connectors. I gave mine a blast with some switch cleaner and that sorted it.

Ah... Cheers Mike. Will the DIS work with the correct coding and the pin un-grounded or does it all have to be done as you say? i.e if you don't account for the washer level sensor will the DIS work but with an error light on the dash? I'll double check what was coded and go from there...
