Not heard of the 1.5 as I haven't kept up, but it doesn't surprise me that they're upping the capacity. It fits a pattern of changes with small capacity TFSI type engines in the past. I'd be bracing myself for a series of reliability problems with the 1.4 engine as the months and years roll by...
Got this checked out at the dealer finally, as it's been getting worse. Demonstrated it on a test drive, along with non-functioning traction control..... They can't reproduce either fault apparently and it's been in a day and a half.
Time to find another dealer, and they certainly won't be...
I'm pleased I bought mine when I did before the price rises. I specced the new one with my options and it has gone up significantly. Even with a discount that's not insignificant and I don't see what I'm getting for the money. The new indicator effects look cool I suppose, but that's about it...
Yep, you can do that, and if you then negotiate a pretty hefty discount via a discounting site or in person they'll lop the thick end of ten grand off. A top end Astra you can get at least seven or eight off and Insignias you can get a lot of car for the money. But...........they're Vauxhalls.
Nothing really. Hold assist probably. I know some people don't like it but I've found it useful under some circumstances. However, it can be finnicky and difficult to have confidence in though. A few times it's stuck on for me and left me stranded in traffic as I manually turn it off. Getting it...
Heh. Just say you're 'thinking' about leaving and they put you through to their 'retentions' department. It's quite easy and you don't need to do an awful lot.
Yep, I used it to get my current A3 and compared to Orange Wheels and Drivethedeal. Put in the spec and see what comes through on all of them. It depends on what you're buying sometimes though.
I went to my dealer and they balked at the Carwow quote so in the end it was cheaper to drive the old...
Well, this 'software update' will be watched closely. If it simply decreases power and economy to get around this then, even though my car allegedly isn't affected, I am highly unlikely to by a VW or even a German car again.
Also, brace yourself for spin-off problems from this and a scandal...
