That's good to hear, I had wondered about finance transfer. I agree, the interior of the S3 is much nicer, but the exterior of the TTRS is certainly a beautiful thing. Also, RS!
So the dealer came back with an offer that was close to drivethedeal but still £1000 more over the life of the contract. I've requested they cancel the order they placed.
My only problem now is that I'm getting tempted to buy a 1-2yo TTRS instead.

The natural assumption is that you've bought an s-line pack and want to make it look like an S*. I've seen plenty of cars with the model removed then something like S3 XXX as the numberplate.

If you ask me its a bit ****ty that a premium car like the S3 comes in red, blue or various shades of grey unless you fork out £2k.
