So the triple square spline drive bits arrived. The bolt that had been slightly rounded had enough grip to be loosened. The issue I've discovered is that the adjusting the door striker has made little difference, in fact making the door close tighter made the road noise worse. I've had the door...
Thank you ever so much for all the information. I have ordered the set you recommended, when I've got it I'll remove one bolt and take it to a hardware store to get an exact match. I know it's an M8 but I have no idea on the pitch and length.
To be honest I too thought it was torx, so thanks for that.
I've borrowed a nice set of easy out's so I don't think I'll need to drill. Good point about an accident, I've had a few opinions on it and basically the consensus is no. However, there is a dent under the car where someone incorrectly...
Thanks for the reply.
I went to have a play with it earlier but quickly realised that the lock mechanism is in a fixed position and is tight to the door frame.
Has anyone ever removed one of the bolts from the door striker?
I am getting an above average amount of road noise through my drivers door. I went to adjust the striker and hit a snag because a previous owner has rounded one of the bolts. I want to replace the bolt but I'm afraid to completely...
I'm not an expert or qualified but, I bought a car where a side wall was damaged like yours and had been glued. The car had just been through an MOT and there was an advisory stating that the 'tyre side wall had been repaired'. No instruction to do actually change it, just making the customer...
You should get back in touch with the stealership if they told you that the failed MOT cancels out the time remaining on the current MOT, it is simply not true. And even if the car did not have a valid MOT then you are still allowed to drive the car to and from garages.

After following this thread I have been worried about the cam chain tensioner so I spoke to the mechanic who completed the rebuild on my car last August (happens to be an old school friend, so I had is number for hobbles!). He said that he replaced the tensioners with the updated version while...
I always thought that my car had a timing chain, especially after seeing a chain like component in the engine while is was being rebuilt after high oil consumption. I was sorting out the paper for my car today and found a print out given to the previous owner stating that the cambelt change was...
I've downloaded the iphone app, could someone please point me in the direction of a good OBD adaptor. From what I've read, certain ones are hit and miss.
Many thanks
Ignore that, I was being lazy. There is a list of recommended ones on the Carista website.
I have had a full refund for my contribution towards the repair cost, which was over £2000. I noticed that more and more people weren’t paying anything and obviously wasn’t happy, so I contacted Audi UK. It took about a week for them to investigate and then agree to a full refund. I know that...
