Cheers for that I will try like you suggested. I am big into my Japanese cars and run a 210bhp CJ shape mitsubishi colt and the turbo setup on that is a much simpler affair! Never owned a VAG car before so I guess there is always some degree of learning curve. I will try to get hold of a copy of...
If you have a friendly MOT tester then try and get an emissions test done as you are now, if your CO is well above the limit then a sports cat might not bring it down enough to pass still so you will blow the money for nothing. I have one a little like that which I got welded into my 2.5"...
I had trying the MBC and N75 in parallel marked down as tomorrows job. I agree that there is a possibility that it is the map but with the N75 fitted it seems like I get full boost all of the time then the ecu panics and cuts the throttle (possibly a map like you described). Whereas with the MBC...
Thanks for the reply,
I fitted the MBC because it was massively overboosting without it and I was getting ridiculus boost spikes before the ECU was pulling the throttle back in. The idea was to replace the N75 with the MBC and turn it to minimum to see if the throttle cut still occurred. AFR is...
Then what I would do is turn down the boost to a low level (0.6-0.8 bar or so) using the faulty ecu and a boost controller. If you get the same problem then there is probably an issue with the ecu. If you don't get the problem then there is a problem with your setup elsewhere.
So just to clear it up,
Your car works perfectly with the ecu which is mapped for the stock turbo?
Your car misfires like in the video when using the ecu which is chipped for the larger turbo setup?
Hi everyone i'm completely new to VAG stuff so go easy!
I recently bought an A3 with the 1.8T (ARY engine is fitted) which has been played with a little (FMIC, S3 injectors, hardpiped and remapped). I noticed that when you put your foot hard down however it hesitates maybe 3 or 4 times through...
