When you say prying the carriers apart can you elaborate please bro?
I understand you have to slide the brushed in the carriers up and down and perhaps oil light with
wd40 so they regain their spring but do u have to widen the carrier then? so it is not so tight?
Well today I did a motorway run and babied the throttle doing between 50-75 on the M3
Covered 25 miles and managed 51mpg (indicated on digi display)
Now that I'm impressed with :)
This sounds exactly the same but I'd have to fork out the full amount I'd imagine because it's an 08 plate
Thanks for the update though does sound similar though
Anyone experience a metallic feeling rattle when letting the clutch out at the end of a gear change?
Its the same when you start to depress it again to change to the next gear feels like a rattle grating feeling :/
It's done 44k 2.0t fsi if that helps maybe they are all the same?
No slipping...
Just to confirm because i did this myself last week.
There are actually 3 rubber grommets there is a rectangular one under the battery that doesn't drain anything the gromit to remove is behind the battery an is the same style as the one by the servo.
I pushed both through.
I'm just concerned...
Well all I can say is I got a GREAT service they even loaned me some rs4 alloys while mine got worked on ordered me bolt covers and did a great job.

Scotty that's in interesting thread wonder if it is the pcv :-/
Novril, yours sounds a lot like mine lol like a kid with the farts!!
Wtf!?
Av4nt yours is even louder but do you have a performance exhaust or just new pipes?
Still similar noise though.
I think this basically means it's normal...
Well got the car a few weeks ago, it had been living under and tree and owned by a couple
who used it for a run about without much thought to cleaning it, paint was a mess lots of
small scratches all over it, wheels were curbed to death and had massive lumps taken out of them!
On the plus side...
Cheers mate, will be interesting to know if this blowing on yours (although it settles down) originates from the NS Exhaust, if it does it must be that mine is just a noisy SOAB !
