My car is tapping like mad. I've done oil pump and pick up. Next up is vvt unit but I reckon there's a bad lifter as it can barely idle on start up after being stood a day or two. I'd like to just get rid of as much remaining sludge while I'm there and I'm tempted to try this. Sounds good to me?

Iv bought a donor head for the vvt unit because my car is rattling it's nuts off between 1-2k revs. Since buying the head and seeing which way around it goes the rattle sounds as though it's coming from the opposite side from the chain? Any ideas?

Yeah basically as title states just want to know if they're interchangeable? Iv had a quick search but can't seem to find anything. Asked the seller what engine is it off and he only knows the head is a 2000 reg but on the pics I'm sure there's a vvti unit on there? Thanks

As above the s3 iv just bought has no dvla record. Iv got a stack of service history with prev mots and about 5 diff private regs that have been on it. Audi found vehicle details throught the reg but no1 else has. The reg and vins all match up to the sales receipts n sh but no dvla records. Done...
