That's like giving a 4 year old a lolly pop and saying 'now don't lick it for a week'!
It is my opinion. There are plenty of articles on the net to back up said opinion. You can Google it.
These questions always bring up 2 trains of thought. The one I subscribe to and the one in the manual. We...
Sorry guys but that AA article was probably written in the 1940s when it would have been relevant. With modern tolerances meaning new engines are practically "blue printed" (remember that term?) from the factory the most important aspect for a performance engine is to bed the rings.
These day...
Nothing to report I'm afraid as the test drive was cancelled. The car is actually the salesman's own vehicle - not a dealer car - and his fuel pump blew last week. Funny thing is, he only had it refitted at the start of the week because another local S3 sedan blew it's fuel pump and the salesman...
Can't find the answer to this by searching. Happy to be directed if someone knows where to look.
Im test driving an S3 Stronic tomorrow to see if I like the flappy paddles enough to swap my order from manual.
One thing I'm worried about is making a brisk getaway from traffic lights when needed...
That's sort of my point. People like you and me turn their lights on in fog. People who use cars as white goods don't. If some one could invent auto headlights that can recognise fog we would be laughing. Be aware I am talking about real pea soup stuff with visibility down to a few metres and...
Front fog lights should be banned. They cause more problems than they solve.
Rear fog lights are useful but the car industry needs to figure out a way to solve the new driving in fog problem.
Auto headlamps! They turn on fine if it's dark but get some fog in the morning - proper stuff with...
Are there any manual S3 owners who feel disappointed with the involvement of their car? I just wonder is the S-Tronic taking driving further into the Playstation relm. At least with a manual you can get involved at the heel toe thing which is always satisfying when you get it right. It's quite...
I doubt 8.5" wide will fit. The standard 18" rims are 7.5" ET51. Golf R and S3 saloon 19s are 8" - remember the saloon has wider arches.
The 8.5" ET45 will stick out an extra 19mm. That's a lot!
They also have 7mm less clearance on the inside.
Use the best petrol you can get. V power etc which is 98 in Australia. Not sure what you get in UK. do not use the cheap stuff. The RON rating is inside the fuel cap.
Let it warm up ie oil temp 80 degrees plus then drive it hard. Not up up the red line every time but lots of high gear foot to...
I haven't driven DSG much. Did have a TDi Jetta DSG this week. A fantastic combo around town. Anyway, when in manual mode, will the box still down change if you pop the kick down button with the accelerator? This is my biggest issue with auto boxes. Sometimes I'm quite happy to floor it in a...
